Perfect length sits just above the knees Perfect for work wear Very comfortable!! Buying more. These are neither linen nor cotton.I buy clothing made out of linen because I like the properties of the textile. Linen is not the softest fabric in the world, but it does take on a wonderful gentle/firm feel after it gets laundered many times. It is a fabulous hot weather fabric and towels made from this material are unrivaled for pulling water from washed glass ware. On occasion I will purchase linen and cotton blends. You can feel the difference in this cloth, while it still sits on the store hanger. Garments made with this blend are often more economically priced than their pure linen counterparts.An imposter is often easily spotted and you don't need to even take it home to find out. The "hand" of synthetics and their nasty blends is generally apparent in the first moment of contact. This is one of the problems of buying garments on this site. Things claim to be linen (or in this case, "linen and COT TON" whatever that is) but you have to take the listing's word for it.These are some kind of synthetic blend. Without putting a sample under a microscope, I will make a guess that there is some polyester in these and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that rayon was also used. They end at about two inches below the knee, which is longer than shown in the product's photos. This means that they will live a brief life as loungewear until I feel that they would be happier in the garbage.Amazon will not be replacing the department store anytime soon. Absolutely love them! Recently walked a theme park and surprisingly by the end of the night the shorts still felt just as light and comfortable as when the day started It's cute and light weight. Think thick t-shirt material so it's not good if you're looking for warmth but it's cute and comfy. I never owned a pair of these when I was attached to the Marines in Okinawa, MCRD San Diego, and MCAS Yuma. Suffice it to say as an 8404 FMF Doc back in the early 80's I would have loved having a few pair of these when I was a young motivated Devil Doc and used to Run and PT almost every day to USMC Fitness Standards. I had running shorts of a similar cut, just different fabric. I don't PT like I did 34 years ago, but wanted a pair for lounging around the house, working in yard, walking. Since I lost some weight from the time I ordered a couple pair, received them, and worn them over the last two weeks. They look alright on me, kind of loose, ( I went from waist 44 to waist 38, approaching W. 36) and the inner lining support fabric is as expected, and yes it can ride up sometimes, NBD. I don't have the quads and glute's like the Dedicated and Motivated, just the same, a good pair of shorts to wear for any physical activity. I would have ordered large, but none in inventory. Doc Sez Get a Pair. Amazing product as usual from brandit These are difficult to tie drawstring tight enough to keep on. Delivery was on time. Fit was great. Great for wearing around the house, workout. Just a daily comfortable short.
