I am 5'3" and weigh about 150 lbs. I have a 33" inch waist. I chose the medium size as that is what was suggested for my measurements. They did not fit at all. Also the liner was sewn in wrong side out and the elastic in the liner was barely sewn in. Amazon/Soffe offered excellent customer service and a very easy replacement for the ones I received.I know these shorts are supposed to be short, small, leg baring and a bit on the risque side. I am not self conscious about stuff like that and I am very confident and don't really care what people think about what I wear. I was perfectly fine knowing these shorts leave little to the imagination. But when I got them they fit comically small on me and I am not a large frame person at all. For my height I am maybe a little thick in areas but I am in no way fat or even remotely chubby. I am very endowed however. There was almost no room for my butt and the front area was completely filled out and not just noticeable but right in your face and downright obscene. There was no way I could wear these to run or workout in. I ran track in high school and we wore similar shorts to these but they did not fit in this way. I believe the measurements, material, construction and quality have all changed from when these shorts first became popular.So if you are a thicker guy, built, African American, or well-endowed please take it from me, no matter what the waist size says I would go a size up if you even want to think of wearing these in public. If you are on the slim to average size the suggested size will probably be fine. But if you are slim and very endowed I would also go up a size too. I love everything about these shorts EXCEPT for the fact that the colors run TERRIBLY in the wash. I still ordered them in more colors because they are so comfortable and functional but will be sure to wash separately! I am 6'3" 190lb with a 32" waist. I find a size medium to be a perfect fit. A size large would slip off in water and after extended life of the product. A size small leaves compression marks.I have been wearing these for 20 years as an undergarment and running/swimwear.Previous iterations were silkier, more durable, and cheaper. The current price matches inflation well, considering most groceries and products are now 400-600% more than they were 10 years ago with pay remaining the same. However, the quality has been reduced while the price rises. It would be nice if businesses would retain product quality and just increase the price rather than cut corners as much as possible creating an inferior product in order to retain profit.I'll buy more in the future, but sadly the product's value will continue to decrease. Wife Review…This seem a little thicker than most swim trunks, but they are a cute manly swim trunk. They fit fine. However, I wish I would have seen somewhere that you can’t spin wash them or tumble dry. They recommend hand wash/ dry clean. Then lay flat to dry. These are for the gym, not a dress sweater. I was quite surprised by this.==Revised review. After the company saw my initial low rating they were very helpful and are issuing a full refund even though I had worn and washed pants. They didn’t have to do that and I didn’t ask to, they requested it. So based on service after the sale I will gladly up my rating to four stars. Love these pants, although it states for men, please be open to trying them if you are a female. I bought them because they look very comfy. Not only are they comfy has all the right pockets and nice material. I bought another one, can't wait to receive it. There are other products out there that help fit better. On is the elastic is too loose at the bottom of the legs so the leg slipped down. Great fit but 100% nylon not cotton like it said therefore I gave it 3 stars. Class all round, quality, fit etc My husband loves them! They are light weight and very comfortable I really like these shorts. The most immediate quality you'll notice is that the material is very thin and lightweight. They don't feel cheap or flimsy - to the contrary the material seems strong - just light and kind of airy. They're very comfortable and will be especially good for hot weather. The comfort is aided by a very forgiving stretch waistband and excellent stretch in the legs and seat - great for bending, squatting, scrambling, etc. The sizing is accurate too, with a fairly moderate cut - not skinny but not sloppy or baggy either. The front pockets are nice and deep and have no problem holding my big phone without fear of it falling out when I sit. I got the blue color and they look great. Great shorts all around that offer good looks, comfort, and fit.
